A dialogue between two islands

A dialogue between two islands gathers aspects of a conversation that has been ongoing between Hera Büyüktaşçıyan and Dilek Winchester during their commute by boat from Heybeliada to the city. The 60 minute long journey has become a base for building up their own islands that imbibes various different and similar fragments of time, space, memory and language. This ongoing dialogue has become the essence of a joint storytelling.

The artists will carry highlights of this experience to their conversation and will delve into the depths of their shared storytelling within the context of the exhibition A Century of Centuries at SALT Beyoğlu. The conversation will also refer to fragments of their recent and earlier works as well as some thoughts on the conditions of telling and retelling stories.

The conversation will be held in Turkish.

This program is organized in the scope of the exhibition A Century of Centuries. Prior to the conversation, the video works Alphabets (Karamanlidika) and Alphabets (Armeno-Turkish) by Dilek Winchester will be screened at 17.30 in the Walk-in Cinema at SALT Beyoğlu.
