19.00 Thursday Cinema: Freak Out!
21.00 Performance: Matters-ton

Peace, free love, feminism, veganism! A new life built in the country, far away from modern society and consumerism. The 1960s, right? Not quite. Freak Out! (2014) retells the story of an alternative movement, Monte Verità [Hill of Truth], which was born in 1900 in southern Switzerland, and soon attracted most of Europe’s cultural radicals. As part of Thursday Cinema, subtitled screening of the film will start at 19.00 in the Walk-in Cinema.

Berlin-based composer and artist Tatsuru Arai’s Matters-ton, second chapter of his “Hyper Serial Music” project, will take place following the screening. This audiovisual performance aims to expand, in a contemporary sense, the classical means related to the history of serial music, while unfolding the relation between sound and matter in the three dimensions of space. By algorithmic simulation, principles designing the audiovisual substance are correlated directly on showing the physical side of universe through perception. Presented in Turkey for the first time, the performance is open to all.

On Long Thursday, The Universe Flickers exhibition, the serving Kitchen, and Robinson Crusoe 389 bookstore at SALT Beyoğlu, as well as SALT Galata building will be open until 22.00.
