Talk: Ghassan Hage
Dar al-Harb, Capitalism and Colonialism

Salt Galata

May 20, 2016 18.00

SALT Galata, Workshop II-III

While people believe that the most important boundary created by war is the front line - the line of separation between the self and the enemy - an often neglected frontier is the line between the realm of peace and the realm of war. This is what separates the realm of good life from a state of conflict. This talk will argue that within this line is value in understanding the nature of capital accumulation, and how new forms of colonial domination are developing in the world today.

Organized by Hamisch | Syrian Cultural House in Istanbul and hosted by SALT Galata, the talk will be held in English.
