Musicians Ali Perret, Meriç Demirkol, and Şenol Küçükyıldırım will perform for the first time at SALT Galata. Believing that unlike their instruments the imagination is limitless, the trios’ performance will be inspired by renowned jazz pianist and composer Andrew Hill’s “Point of Departure” album.

Organized as part of Long Thursday, the program is open to all.

Meriç Demirkol graduated from Bilkent University’s Faculty of Music and Performing Arts Faculty, where he specialized in oboe. He continues his works in the fields of saxophone and jazz music.

Şenol Küçükyıldırım studied art history at Istanbul University and violin at the State Conservatory in Istanbul. One of Turkey’s most important experimental drummers, Küçükyıldırım serves as a faculty member at Yıldız Teknik University. He released the album “Ghost Watch” (2012) with his band WeeD, and “-Scape” (2014), an off-beat album consisting of only bell recordings.
