Practice Matters: Organising Persistence

May 8, 2025 9.30

Studio Giardini, Venice

Practice Matters is a project that explores how design, architecture, and urban practices respond to urgent issues of conflict and crisis. Bringing together a plurality of experiences and fields of knowledge, the project aims to serve as a common space and resource for discussion, (un-)learning, and (re-)thinking the role and possibilities of spatial practices today.

This first public event, realized by IASPIS in collaboration with Salt and Krater Collective on the occasion of the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale, brings together four collectives to discuss how spatial practices organize and persist across different contexts and scales of crisis. The program will feature presentations by Danica Sretenović and Debra Solomon (Krater Collective), Aljaž Škrlep (Robida Collective), Bianca Elzenbaumer (La Foresta), Merve Gül Özokcu and Mina Öner (Herkes için Mimarlık / Architecture for All), with an introduction and moderation by Magnus Ericson (IASPIS) and Eylül Şenses (Salt).

Practice Matters is developed by IASPIS in collaboration with Salt and programmed by Magnus Ericson and Eylül Şenses.

The program will be held in English. Seats are limited. To register, please send an email to me@iaspis.se. The full program can be downloaded here.
