Archive I/O, a product series designed for Salt by Studio Yellowdot, is now available at Robinson Crusoe 389 Bookstore. The series includes a pin, notebook, tote bag, and folder, inspired by the digitized archival collections at Salt Research.
Archive I/O is centered around an imaginary library of archive folders, arranged to symbolize binary code—either “I” (filled) or “O” (empty)—representing the 1s and 0s that computers use to process data. The design forms a four-line matrix that spells out “Salt,” offering a unique interpretation of the universal language of computation.
