To mark the opening of his exhibition End of Dreams, Nikolaj Bendix Skyum Larsen will talk about his concept, and the various challenging stages of production and transformation the work went through. He will also touch upon his other works on migration including Promised Land (2011-2013), Reflections from Meriç (2013) and End of Season (2014).
The five channel HD video and sculptural installation End of Dreams — produced during a residency at the Italian art organization, qwatz — is an ode to the countless lives that have been lost by those attempting to traverse the Mediterranean Sea in order to reach Europe.
The talk will be held in English.
End of Dreams is produced by qwatz, Rome, supported by Sharjah Art Foundation and co-funded by the Danish Arts Council.
