Jérôme Bel, invited to create a piece for the Paris Opera Ballet by its director, Brigitte Lefèvre, wanted to stage a kind of theatrical documentary on one of the ballet’s dancers: Véronique Doisneau. The dancer, nearing retirement, is alone on stage, retrospectively and subjectively considering her career as a ballerina. The film was shot during the last performance of the piece on the Palais Garnier stage. It was produced with the assistance of Telmondis and the Paris Opera Ballet, and co-realized by Pierre Dupouey and Jérôme Bel.
