SALT Galata, Workshop IV
How are aesthetic, cultural, and pragmatic scientific systems shaping society utilized and performed in artistic practice? In this talk Laura Barlow looks at how cross generational artists–Saloua Rouada Choucair, Hassan Sharif, Iman Issa, Mariana Silva, and Tyler Coburn–observe and challenge standardized rituals and “modernist” tendencies in architecture, public art, and the display of objects, to create new visual languages of complicity or aversion.
The talk will be held in English.
