Commissioners’ Exhibition
Commissioners’ Exhibition studies the critical relationship between the architect and the commissioner through a number of buildings contracted by private and public entities in Ankara, Çanakkale, Denizli, Izmir, and Istanbul. Produced for the exhibition, Map of Women Patrons’ Structures in Ottoman Istanbul enables an examination of the role, which women played in Istanbul’s urbanization from the 15th to 20th century. Dispersed throughout the building, the exhibition also features documents providing details on the renovation process of SALT Galata that took place between 2006-2011.
