How to Lose Control: The Redistribution of Authorship and Other Useful Arts
Co-director of the Asociación de Arte Útil, and director of Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (MIMA), Alistair Hudson will introduce the concept of “arte útil,” and analyze social projects archived as case studies from around the world, as well as the existing and potential contributions from Turkey with the participants.
Taking place in the Office of Useful Art at SALT Galata, the workshop will explore the ideas that underpin a growing movement away from individual artistic expression or critique, towards modes of shared creativity and decision-making with practical and socially beneficial outcomes.
The workshop will be held in English and is open to all.
