This month’s Long Thursday in the Walk-in Cinema will include the screening of Berlin Babylon, a drama of real estate, money and power in the German capital in the 1990s, and the 29’59” performances programmed by A Corner in the World.

The exhibition Replica of the Original and Robinson Crusoe 389 bookstore at SALT Beyoğlu, as well as the exhibition Mihri: A Migrant Painter of Modern Times will be open until 22.00.

The last film of Thursday Cinema’s spring program reflects the fascination of rapid change and the horrors of destruction in post-wall Berlin. Exploring the frantic works to restore the urban fabric destroyed in World War II and the period afterwards to prepare the capital ready for the 21st century, this documentary film is accompanied by German industrial legend Einstürzende Neubauten’s music.

21.00 // A CORNER IN THE WORLD PERFORMANCE PROGRAM: 29’59”

An independent collective focusing on performing arts and related fields, A Corner in the World’s 29’59” program, launched in 2018, present selected perfomative works by Istanbul-based artists to enhance visibility of new forms. The 29’59” program in the Walk-in Cinema will comprise six experimental performances, each is no longer than 30 minutes.

films that have not been assessed and classified by the General Directorate of Cinema, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Republic of Turkey, can only be screened under the classification of 18+ at festivals, special screenings or similar culture and arts events.
