A series of talks about the impacts of migration and displacements on the local food culture, Maide in the Kitchen will take place at SALT Beyoğlu for four weeks starting on July 9. Organized in collaboration with Kök Projekt, the programs will center around the story of Maide, a professional catering service that provides training and employment to the immigrant, refugee, and socioeconomically disadvantaged women in Istanbul. Exploring the issues related to food waste and the term “war gastronomy” as well as the recently adopted recipes, the discussions will be accompanied with food preparations by the Maide chefs.
