Harika-Kemali Söylemezoğlu Archive

Having been donated to SALT Research by Harika Alpar Söylemezoğlu (1918-2020), one of the first female graduates of the Architecture Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul, the collection is accessible here. Harika-Kemali Söylemezoğlu Archive includes diverse documents from the architect couple’s professional and personal lives as well as a group of materials detailing their relationship with German émigré architect Paul Bonatz, who supported the Second Nationalist Architecture Movement and taught at the Istanbul Technical University Faculty while in Turkey between the 1940s and 1950s.
