L'INTERNATIONALE TALKS:
The Constituent Museum in Dialogue

Online

June 24 – July 22, 2021

Omuz
SALT
Organized as part of Our Many Europes project by the European museum confederation L’Internationale, The Constituent Museum in Dialogue is a series of videos produced by the member institutions, Moderna galerija (MG+MSUM), Museo Reina Sofía, Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Warszawie, MACBA Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona and SALT.

The Constituent Museum in Dialogue explores the possibility of building a constituent museum. Understanding the challenges of a constituent practice in an integral, interdisciplinary manner is crucial, particularly in regards to the museum’s constituents, who are museum professionals, active audience/co-curator, local and political agencies, operational structures and contexts—all essential to the museum organization and how such positions in society shift and change.

SALT joins in the series with a conversation on Omuz, a solidarity network—initiated by a group of people working in the arts and culture, who believe in the urgency of unreciprocated resource sharing and cooperation—which will only be sustainable through the support of others. Omuz was established to respond to the economic precarities and inequalities, which became acutely visible during the COVID-19 pandemic, and to strengthen the network of solidarity.
