Salt is hosting a program comprising film screenings, talks, a masterclass, and an award ceremony on October 19 and 22, as part of the 10th Animators International Film Festival organized by Canlandıranlar Derneği [Animators Association].
The program will start on Wednesday, October 19 at 16.00 with the screening of T-BOT, a short animation film produced by Maara Animation Studio, Istanbul’s only studio entirely dedicated to the stop-motion technique, and a talk by Niyazi Özyurt, director and founder of the studio.
The renowned stop-motion studio Aardman Animations’ co-founder and creative director, and the festival’s guest of honor, Peter Lord will conduct a master class at 18.00, focusing on Aardman’s story and his journey within the field of animated cinema.
On Saturday, October 22 at 14.00, director Can Soysal will be in conversation with Başak Ürkmez, as part of the festival’s Tribute section realized with the contribution of notable figures who have contributed to the development of animation in Turkey. The screening of Peter Lord’s selection of films produced by the directors of Aardman Animations will take place at 16.00.
