EO (2022)
Director: Jerzy Skolimowski
Cast: Sandra Drzymalska, Lorenzo Zurzolo, Mateusz Kosciukiewicz, Isabelle Huppert
88 minutes
Polish; Turkish subtitles
EO is a donkey working for an itinerant circus, performing alongside Kasandra, who loves and protects him. When animal-rights protesters help get the circus shut down, EO is taken away and sent to a horse stable. He then begins a trek across countryside, experiencing cruelty and kindness from a cast of characters, including a Polish soccer team and an Italian countess.
A tribute to Robert Bresson’s 1966 film Au Hasard Balthazar, Jerzy Skolimowski’s EO offers an unconventional, lyrical, and visionary look into the human world through the melancholic eyes of a donkey. The film won the Prix du Jury at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, where it premiered, and was nominated for Best International Film at the 95th Academy Awards.
The screening will take place on Thursday, November 30 at 19.00 in the Walk-in Cinema.
Limited seats. No reservations.
