From the Wild Sea (2021)
Director: Robin Petré
78 minutes
English; Turkish subtitles

Throughout Europe, marine animal rescue volunteers work tirelessly year-round to protect coastal wildlife from oil spills and plastic pollution. As marine animals struggle to survive the destruction of their habitats, volunteers are also facing the increasingly severe winter storms caused by the climate crisis.

In this poetic documentary, director Robin Petré takes the viewer on a disturbing and fascinating journey from both human and animal perspectives. Centering on the complex collision between human and non-human beings, From the Wild Sea depicts a sensorial and poignant picture of our modern world, exploring how we are all interconnected in an immense, nuanced system that extends far beyond humans.

Following the Walk-in Cinema screening on Thursday, March 7 at 19.00, the film will be streamed online between March 8-10 via saltonline.org.

Salt’s Is this our last chance? program is supported by its founder Garanti BBVA, and is open to everyone. The films will be streamed in their original language with Turkish subtitles, and can only be accessed online by audiences in Turkey.
