Salt Galata
June 6 – June 7, 2024
Workshop II-III
Salt is hosting a presentation and workshop organized by the College of Architecture, Art and Design at the American University of Sharjah and Sakarya University Department of Architecture.
The presentation features student projects supervised by Dr. Igor Peraza, which aim to reintegrate the historical Ayakapı Bath into Istanbul’s multicultural urban life through the building’s preservation, contemporary interpretation, and environmental impact. Comparing historical and recent examples of bath culture, the projects explore comprehensive plans for sustainable development utilizing concepts from green building technologies such as ultra-low carbon footprint, net zero energy consumption, and artificial intelligence.
Following the project presentations, Peraza will run a workshop focusing on revitalizing the bath. The workshop is open to all architecture and interior design students and aims to be a domain where students from various geographies can produce together.
