Winter Garden
Warm Earth Sounds for Plants and the People Who Love Them continues with Passepartout Duo’s installation Of Soil and Water.
Inspired by the compacted soil used in the Winter Garden, the installation creates a soundscape through two major elements that constitute the world of a plant: the soil supporting the rooted plants and the water flowing through them. By attentively listening, recording, and processing the sound of dry clay and various minerals as they interact with water, the duo presents a composition of clicks, scratches, tumbles, rustles, and whistles.
The duo will be in conversation about the installation on September 17, followed by a live performance. The conversation will be held in English.
The program is realized as part of L’Internationale’s Museum of the Commons project and with the support of EK BİÇ YE İÇ.

Passepartout Duo consists of pianist Nicoletta Favari and percussionist Christopher Salvito. Utilizing a palette of electro-acoustic textures and shape-shifting rhythms, their work explores ways of listening and connecting with sound. Constantly re-evaluating the tools they use to create their music, the duo develops a unique ecosystem of handmade musical instruments, ranging from analog electronics and traditional percussion to room-sized textile installations and found objects.
