Workshop II-III
Founded in 2007, the Indonesian Visual Art Archive (IVAA) actively collects art archives through documentation and exploration, facilitating research via its online archive and physical space in Yogyakarta. IVAA’s focus remains deeply connected to the historical context of Indonesia and the various issues surrounding it.
In this Who’s in town? talk, Dwi Rachmanto (Head of Archive), Putu Sridiniari (Researcher), Riksa Afiaty (Head of Program), and Santosa (Librarian) from IVAA will discuss the evolution of the institution’s practice and its trajectory from a community-based archive (2007-2015) towards a socially engaged one (2015-2022). They will address the challenges and aspirations of working with the archives, focusing on infrastructure, positionality, community engagement, and recent acquisitions. They will also talk about IVAA’s new direction and upcoming projects.
The talk will be held in English and is open to everyone.
