Salt Research Gregory Michael Kiez Hall
Salt is presenting a live performance program featuring ambient and experimental music genres. Created by Berk Çakmakçı and Günseli Naz Ferel, the program includes performances by sound artists Age Reform, Jtamul, and Koray Kantarcıoğlu that blend melodic and atmospheric sounds. Offering a listening experience centered on serenity, the site-specific performances will be presented in Salt Research Gregory Michael Kiez Hall.

Koray Kantarcıoğlu has been producing music under different names since the late 90s. His albums met with listeners in various formats from record labels such as Discrepant (England), Cloudchamber Records (Slovenia) and Wounded Wolf Press (Turkey/England). His latest work, Havuz III-IV, was released in cassette format from Dasa Tapes (Greece). He completed his undergraduate education at Bilkent University, Department of Political Science and Public Administration, and his master’s degree at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Kantarcıoğlu also produces pixel-based drawings simultaneously with the music.
Berk Çakmakçı is a producer, DJ, and visual artist who has been making music under the name Age Reform since 2010. In addition to producing music for theater and performance, he makes eclectic DJ performances that can be described as “club music.” Age Reform’s tracks have appeared on compilation albums by various record labels and collectives, and his debut album Degenerate was released on vinyl by Tektosag in 2019. Focusing on the transformative impact of technology on humans and society, Çakmakçı also works as an art director, designer, and photographer.
Jtamul is an Istanbul-based sound artist who produces a wide range of works, from percussion-based, high-energy club music to 2000s House and Techno. One of the leading figures in Istanbul’s queer club scene, Jtamul has released albums and EPs on labels such as Planet Mu-Objects Limited, YUKU, AMEL, and most recently, XSM Recordings. Jtamul also works with free-flowing rhythms and sonic textures in ambient and abstract music projects.
Günseli Naz Ferel is a DJ, sound artist, and researcher whose work explores memory and emotions. In 2023, she relocated to London to pursue her PhD in electronic music, affect, and migration. Between 2012 and 2023, she contributed to programming at various radio stations in Istanbul. Ferel has performed in venues and events, including Salon IKSV, Beykoz Kundura, and Boiler Room Istanbul. During her graduate studies focusing on the sociology of music at Boğaziçi University, she was involved in various activist and non-governmental organizations. Currently, she continues to broadcast on London-based Netil Radio and Voices Radio.
