Muhlis Türkmen Archive

Architect and educator Muhlis Türkmen’s (1923-2014) archive is now accessible at archives.saltresearch.org.

Digitized and cataloged as part of Salt Research Architecture and Design Archive, the collection includes the architect’s personal and professional documents. A faculty member at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul (later Mimar Sinan University) for most of his life, Türkmen’s drawings and photographs from his architectural projects provide insight into his work and design approach.

The archive collections at Salt Research encompass over 2,000,000 unique digitized resources on “Art,” “Architecture and Design,” and “City, Society, and Economy.” The Architecture and Design Archive comprises more than 180,000 documents—including sketches, drawings, correspondence, contracts, reports, maps, photographs, audio recordings, and videos—sourced from the personal and professional archives of prominent figures active in 20th-century Turkey.
