En Dido Na Orom Mťka? [Your favorite plant?] follows ecologist and ethnobotanist Ceren Kazancı Oruç as she embarks on a journey to reconnect with her native Laz language and ancestral lands.
Her first step is to explore the cultural keystone plant species of the Laz people. Along the way, she discovers the variety of plant uses within the Laz community, the diverse Laz names and cultural values attributed to these plants, and their place in collective memory. She gradually realizes the vital role of these plants as essential resources for the Laz people, their connection to the language, and the importance of transferring knowledge and experience across generations.
Organized as part of Anatolian Plant Legacy, the free-admission screening will be held on Friday, May 30 at 18.00 in the Walk-in Cinema at Salt Beyoğlu.
