La Panthère des neiges [The Velvet Queen] (2021)
Directors: Vincent Munier and Marie Amiguet
92 minutes
French; Turkish and English subtitles
La Panthère des neiges [The Velvet Queen] follows wildlife photographer Vincent Munier and writer Sylvain Tesson as they journey deep into the Tibetan Plateau. Across windswept valleys and steep escarpments, they search for rare and elusive animals that inhabit one of the last untouched regions of the wild world. Along the way, they encounter the wild yak, the Himalayan bharal, the Tibetan antelope, the gray wolf, the Tibetan fox, and the Pallas’s cat. Their ultimate goal is to catch a glimpse of the snow leopard—silent, near-mythical, and rarely seen.
The free-admission screening is realized with the support of Institut Français Istanbul and is open to everyone.
