In Rehab (from Rehab), filmmaker Louise Lemoine departs from her own story of spending her childhood in various rehabilitation centers alongside her severely disabled father. Filmed inside REHAB in Basel—an innovative, experimental rehabilitation center designed by Herzog & de Meuron for specialized treatment of physical and neurological disabilities—the documentary explores how therapeutic environments are shaped not only by medical expertise but also by attention to material and spatial aspects. Through a deeply personal lens, it highlights how holistically designed spaces can become models for care that address both physical and emotional recovery.
