As part of the archival project initiated by Salt in April 2023, over 36,000 physical items—including posters, reports, commercials, periodicals, photographs, albums, slides, brochures, and various objects—were cataloged in Turkish and English and digitized, while approximately 255,000 digital documents were inventoried.
Spanning the period from the bank’s founding in 1946 to the present, the collection encompasses a wide range of subjects, from the transformation of the financial system to the fabric of everyday life, and from the language of communication to visual culture. It invites multiple interpretations by examining the institution’s history alongside Turkey’s economic, social, cultural, and technological transformation. Enriched through contributions from bank employees, the archive brings together a comprehensive selection ranging from corporate identity and advertising to social investment and sustainability. It highlights the bank’s milestones, its technology-driven business model, and its evolving understanding of customer experience.
Drawing on thousands of documents from this comprehensive archive, the exhibition 80 Years of Tomorrows traces the bank’s eighty-year history and is on view at Salt Galata until September 30.
