SALT Interpretation is organizing exhibition critiques for college students during the exhibition “Scared of Murals”. During these exhibition tours that are led by experts from different disciplines each month, students will have a chance to explore the exhibition’s content as well as engaging in discussions centered around its themes and intentions.

To join the first tour led by the artist Nancy Atakan, please email your first and last name, the name of your university and the academic program you are attending to yorumlama@saltonline.org.

The tours will be held in Turkish and are limited to 12 participants.

Nancy Atakan
Born in the USA, Nancy Atakan has lived and worked in İstanbul since 1969 as an artist, teacher, art historian, and art critic. With a PhD in Art History from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University obtained in 1995, Atakan has authored two books on conceptual art in Turkey and writes reviews for Flash Art magazine. She co-founded the İstanbul off-space 5533 with the artist Volkan Aslan in 2008. Her works deal with social, gender, and psychological issues as well as the relationship between word and image.
