Artist Emre Zeytinoğlu will discuss his work titled Devletin Belleği [Memory of the State] that was exhibited in the Number Fifty/Memory/Recollection II exhibition in 1993. The work was reproduced for It was a time of conversation at SALT Ulus. Taking the production process of the installation as a starting point, Zeytinoğlu will evaluate the shifting framework of art in Turkey during the 1990s.

Zeytinoğlu has been involved in exhibitions since 1986, and began writing about art in 1988. His publications include Sanat Üzerine Yersiz Yorumlar (2008), Uyku Tulumunda Spor (2004), Sanatın Suç Ortaklıkları (2003), Kavramın Sınırlarında (with Ali Akay, 1998) and Pisuarın Bir Dekonstrüksiyonu (with Ali Akay, 1994). He teaches Art, Theory and Criticism; Globalization and Art as well as Art and Design Culture at Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, İstanbul and at Anadolu University, Eskişehir.

The talk will be held in Turkish.
