Ernesto Pujol will speak about the regional research, human relationships, meditative creative process, local collaborations, and choreography mechanics triggered every time he is commissioned a new site-specific performance project. He will show a selection of solo and group images from some of his public projects of the last decade, such as Memorial Gestures that took place at the Chicago Cultural Center during the winter of 2007, and Speaking in Silence, a series of 12 performances that occured simultaneously throughout the city of Honolulu during the summer of 2010.
Pujol is a site-specific performance artist and social choreographer currently based in the United States. In 2012 Pujol published Sited Body, Public Visions: Silence, Stillness & Walking as Performance Practice. He serves as performance instructor on the MFA programs at Parsons School of Design and the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
