Exhausted

Realized as part of Cooking Sections' CLIMAVORE: Seasons Made to Drift exhibition, "Exhausted" website serves as a guide to the same-titled research, which undoes the tales of soil and human fertility.

"Exhausted" includes a selection of visual representations of objects and documents from the early agricultural communities to the present day, as well as a series of essays and lectures. The selection of artefacts relate to different historical episodes linking the veneration of so-called fertility goddesses and fruitful lands with virility, femininity, and abundance from the Neolithic age in the so-called "Fertile Crescent". It explores the crisis of infertility and the subsequent expansion of IVF facilities and treatments in contemporary Istanbul.

CLIMAVORE: Seasons Made to Drift exhibition, programmed by Meriç Öner and Onur Yıldız, and "Exhausted" web project are realized within the framework of Our Many Europes by L'Internationale.
