Director: Khyentse Norbu
93 minutes
Hindi and Tibetan; Turkish and English subtitles

A remote Himalayan monastery run by Buddhist monks from Tibet is suddenly disrupted by World Cup fever in 1998. Centuries-old traditions and the esteemed guardian lamas face unique challenges when their young pupils - all eager football fans - become determined to watch the televised final match. However, as televisions are banned in the monastery, these young pupils face a challenge of their own. Inspired by true events, former Buddhist monk and director Khyentse Norbu offers a sense of authenticity through the film accompanied by a humorous rendition of diverging traditions, escape plans and secret plots.
