User’s Manual 2.0: Contemporary Art in Turkey 1975-2015

SALT Galata, Workshop II-III

Comprising 40 years of contemporary art in Turkey, the September release of User’s Manual 2.0 will be launched as the first program of “Becoming a Book,” a collective initiative of SALT and Robinson Crusoe 389.

Edited by Halil Altındere and Süreyyya Evren, this publication is a collaboration between art-ist, Istanbul and Revolver Publishing, Berlin.

“Becoming a Book”
Inspired by the quotation “Everything in the world exists in order to end up as a book” by Mallarmé, “Becoming a Book” is a reflection of the ongoing collaboration between SALT and Robinson Crusoe 389; two institutions that share similar concerns and dreams for the past and future. “Becoming a Book” aims to enhance long-lasting opportunities for knowledge production via publicly accessible platforms.
