Haus of Dragons
Salt Galata
June 29, 2019 16.00
The screening program Haus of Dragons consists of Danish artist Lotte Nielsen’s 2018 short film with the same title as well as two other shorts that she produced in 2016 and 2018 respectively — YAOI: København and YAOI: İstanbul. Taking place in the Auditorium at SALT Galata on June 29, the program will be followed by a conversation between the artist and the audience.
Nielsen’s short films portray the experiences of queer youth in Copenhagen and Istanbul with a poetic documentary style. Focusing on the issues related to identity and gender along with social struggles, the films’ protagonists speak about their families, dreams, concerns, and interactions within the community while using the art of performance to express themselves freely.
The screenings and the conversation are open to all.
