December, 1981. Marianna, a zealous Catholic, seizes the opportunity of a family celebration to reconcile her long-feuding children: the baptism of her youngest grandson. However, her plans are unexpectedly disrupted when General Jaruzelski declares martial law that day. Undeterred in her resolve to bring her family together, Marianna shields her children from the harsh reality of the country’s situation. What may seem like a minor deception sets off a chain of unforeseen events that become increasingly challenging to control.
