Online Presentation: SALON
Part of SALT’s Modern Essays series, which investigates different aspects of modernization in Turkey, SALON is an object and spatial environment-based program. It focuses on a real setting from Ankara of the 1960s, namely the apartment of composer Ulvi Cemal Erkin and pianist Ferhunde Erkin. The simple and diligent material qualities of their home sparks the research that unfolds a unique instance of design in the capital. The building, the furniture and their interpretation into the exhibition space of SALT Galata are presented on Google Arts & Culture via Metehan Özcan’s photographs.
