Müjgan, the daughter of an Ottoman pasha, falls in love at first sight with Murat, the head of the fire brigade who came to extinguish the fire in their mansion. However, Murat had promised the mansion’s owner, Hilmi Pasha, that he would care for Nihat, Hilmi Pasha’s son, who was eager to become a fireman and protect the family’s honor. Things would get complicated when Murat’s archnemesis, Yalaza Nuri, found out about this love.

Adapted from novelist Necip Fazıl Kısakürek’s works, the film follows what happens to a group of firemen and tough guys living outside the traditional neighborhood order in old Istanbul.

Organized in parallel to the exhibition No Further Records: Reşad Ekrem Koçu and Istanbul Encyclopedia Archive, the screening is free of charge and open to all.

Limited seats. No reservations.
