Şükran and Ali are two young lovers who chase after their dream to become famous. One day, Ali gets imprisoned after fighting with Şükran’s older brother Hüseyin. Left alone with her dreams, the young woman soon encounters a dance troupe that will shift the course of events.

Featuring the stars of Yeşilçam and a crowded group of actors, the film focuses on what happens to five girls at the musical theater. Osman F. Seden’s Beş Şeker Kız [Five Sweet Girls] is a drawing-room comedy that looks at the entertainment life in 1960s Istanbul.

Organized in parallel to the exhibition No Further Records: Reşad Ekrem Koçu and Istanbul Encyclopedia Archive, the screening is free of charge and open to all.

Limited seats. No reservations.
